Seghesio Sonoma Zinfandel 1999
Zinfandel from Sonoma County, California
Our family roots are firmly planted in Zinfandel. This wine originates from soils that have produced Zinfandel for nearly a century as well as newer Zin sites utilizing the most advanced viticultural practices. I believe 1999 is our finest Zinfandel vintage. Moderate climatic conditions, slowly built up sugars in the vines and Octobers warm temperatures quickly drove sugars to the fruit. We rushed into harvest taking advantage of our readiness by picking the fruit at optimum maturity levels. This wine combines Zins spicy, lush black fruit from Alexander Valley, with the cooler Dry Creek Valley fruit that offers structure, and Zins classic briary, raspberry flavors.
