Winemaker's Notes:

J. Schram is a fine expression of American individuality and innovation. We created J. Schram to achieve the greatest elegance and individuality possible in a sparkling wine. This is a wine in which no effort has been spared, no care omitted. It is only made in the finest vintages. Chardonnay makes up the majority of the blend, while Pinot Noir is added to give the wine dimension and character.

The 1995 vintage expresses the cultivated elegance we look for in J. Schram – a harmony of power and finesse. Seductive aromas of honey and roasted pecans add dimension and intrigue to the Chardonnay-based notes of lemon, pineapple, and melon. The viscous, creamy texture and robust flavors give way to a long, dry, and crisp finish. This wine has an intricate balance of richness and firm acidity which gives it the classic structure we strive for in our finest cuvées. It will age exceptionally for many years to come.
