Great viticulture and aristocratic enology, that't Litra. Cabernet Sauvignon, grown on low clipped vines, are accompained in the wine-marking phase by exceptional Nero d'Avola which is selected from the stalks presenting few clusters. At harvest time the grapes were rich in flavor and the juice registered an average sugar level of around 22%, with a low acidity total averaging 6%. The color was a deep blood-red. Long fermenting: 16 days at a temperature of 28°C. Eightenn months in French split oak bouquet. Litra can age a long time in the bottle. It is a wine for gourmet food!

In the quarter of a century that has elapsed since Lena purchased the vast property (1980), an extraordinary team of agronomists and wine technicians, orchestrated by Lena himself with winemaker Riccardo Cotarella, has succeeded in crafting some of the new icons of Sicilian oenology from elevated, Guyot-trained vines and superb terroir.
