The 2009 Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Pinot Noir is exclusively sourced from our historic estate vineyard in the esteemed Santa Rita Hills AVA. Planted in 1971, this iconic vineyard consistently produces distinctively superb Pinot Noir. The 2009 wine is bright red in color and is loaded with bing cherry, raspberry and pomegranate. In addition to the enticing fruit, this lovely Pinot exhibits aromas of dusty sage and white pepper. The silky palate delivers bright spicy raspberry flavors framed nicely by bright acidity and ripe tannins.
Aged in French Oak barrels for 11 months where it gained concentration and complexity, this wine will improve in the bottle for 5 to 7 years with proper cellaring.
