Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

A lifted nose showing aromas of passionfruit, blackcurrant, grapefruit and nettles with refreshing underlying mineral notes. Light bodied and refreshing with typical Marlborough flavors of gooseberry, blackcurrant and grapefruit. A pleasing mineral note leads to a long lingering finish.

Enjoy it on its own or with seafood or chicken served with grilled vegetables or fresh salad.

Critical Acclaim

"Citrus scents of lime and ruby red grapefruit tame the passion fruit aromas of this wine. It's tight and austere, with the kind of through line of acidity that's mouthwatering with freshly shucked oysters and clams."

To me this is a wonderful Sauvignon Blanc, refreshing and light with nice citrus and gooseberry and cool minerality. This pairs great with shellfish.
