Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This bright ruby Pinot Noir exudes lifted notes of raspberry, strawberry and red cherry that are complimented by subtle savory notes. It is medium-bodied with a round, soft, full palate, supple tannins and well-balanced acidity. Cherry and raspberry flavors dominate and are supported by hints of redcurrant. Rich savory notes create a long lingering finish.

This an ideal wine with succulent red meat dishes, mushroom and tomato pasta or fresh pan-fried fish.

Critical Acclaim

"Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, Saint Clair’s 2009 Pinot Noir has intense cranberry, raspberry and dried herb aromas with a whiff of moss covered logs. Medium to full bodied with a medium level of finely grained tannins, good concentration of juicy berry fruit and refreshing acid, the finish is long and cherry-laced. Drinking now it should keep to 2014. "
