The color is a pale straw with green hues. On the nose are intense and powerful aromas of blackcurrant, passionfruit, grapefruit and gooseberry leap out of the glass. On the palate it is a full, crisp and powerful wine showing intense flavours of passionfruit and blackcurrant, with underlying gooseberry tones. This wine has a full yet elegant palate with subtle minerality. Well balanced acidity provides a long, lingering finish. Perfect for drinking immediately this wine will be at its best over the next one to two years.

Saint Clair Family Estate Winery
The Saint Clair name originates from the vineyard property, first settled by the Sinclair family. Pioneer James Sinclair built one of the first homes in Blenheim and was closely associated with the early development of the town. Over time the name of the property reverted to the original Saint Clair.
Saint Clair Estate Wines is owned by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, pioneers of viticulture in Marlborough since 1978. Grapes were originally supplied to local wine companies; however, a desire to extend the quality achieved in the vineyard through to the finished wine led to the establishment of Saint Clair Estate Wines.

Sitting pretty on the northern tip of New Zealand's south island, Marlborough has become synonymous with New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. As well it should be – Marlborough is the primary region for those delicious, citrusy, summer-lovin' wines with vibrant acidity and pungent, grassy, grapefruit flavors. Sauvignon Blanc is the main grape here; Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling are also made.
Notable FactsThe region has well-drained alluvial loam soils, which are perfect for grape growing. The grapes receive a good deal of sunshine during the day, but recovers in the cool evenings. Marlborough's growing season is long, which helps foster the gradual, even ripening of the grapes. Not made for much aging, the Sauvignon Blancs of Marlborough are of the buy ‘em and drink ‘em class of wine. Expect little vintage variation here - quantity differs more than quality.
