 First to specialeze in the exclusive production of red wine only, Rust en Vrede is now South Africa's Premium red wine estate. Our full-bodied, new-oak matured wines are a manifestation of the supremacy of the Stellenbosch region when it comes to the making of truly great red wines. Rust en Vrede is proud to be part of this and continues to pursue the excellence that has characterized wines from Stellenbosh and spcifically our private estates, which undoubtedly are the hearbeat of this magnificent region.

A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Shiraz, and 10% Merlot aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels, then aged for another 18 months in the bottle before release.

An intense, black color in the glass. Initial earthiness opens up to an array of berry flavors and a touch of eucalyptus. Rich, full-bodied and complex in character. Chewy and savoury, yet delicate and refined, finishing with a pleasant lingering aftertaste of roasted almonds. Truly a wine with finesse.

About Rust en Vrede:

 Nestled on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain in the Stellenbosch wine region lies this beautiful estate of 55 hectares. Known for consistently producing wines of high quality, Rust en Vrede is now considered to be one of the finest estates in South Africa when it comes to the making of truly great red wines. Established in 1694, it is one of the oldest estates in the Stellenbosch area and displays exquisite examples of Cape Dutch architecture.

In 1991, President Nelson Mandela awarded the Merit award of export achievement to the estate. During this period, they tirelessly worked on building the Rust en Vrede brand into a world quality product. These efforts were rewarded in 1993 when President Mandela selected Rust en Vrede to be served at the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize banquet.
