Alcohol By Volume: 13.0%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Ruby red in color, Fonte al Sole 2008 displays inviting aromatics, with concentrated fruity notes of black and red berries. The palate shows this wine's harmonious structure: the Sangiovese's typical fruitiness and acidity is balanced by the tannins and structure of the Cabernet, leading to a velvety finish.

Fonte al Sole can often solve the food and wine pairing puzzle as it goes well with a wide variety of foods. Try it with roasted chicken, barbequed ribs, seared tuna steak, or pasta Bolognese.

Blend: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Sangiovese.
