This beautiful head-pruned and dry-framed vineyard sits on sloping gravelly soils in Mendocino's cool climate Redwood Valley. The old vines and limited production of less than 2 ton per acre create an environment for intensely flavored grapes.
This exotically colored wine from a Northern California cool climate shows great balance with a good acid and tannin backbone. It also possesses an intense fruit-driven bouquet showing black cherries, currants and dark plums with elements of black pepper, anise and violets. This wine will age well for 10 to 15 years and pairs well with peppered beef carpaccio or grilled lamb chops.
