Rosemount Diamond Cabernet-Merlot 2002

The 2002 Cabernet Merlot blend successfully displays the fundamental flavours of the varietal components, whilst achieving maximum drinking appeal as a young wine through soft tannin extraction and the careful maintenance of primary fruit character throughout the ferment.

The colour is a bright plum red with vibrant purple hues. Highly attractive notes of ripe berry and plum dominate the aroma, clearly capturing the primary varietal flavours of the blend. The Cabernet Sauvignon lends excellent dark fruit richness to the fore-palate and structure, whilst the Merlot fulfils its classic role of filling the mid-palate and lending a velvety, plummy richness to the finish. Excellent now, the wine will be a pleasure to drink over the coming two years.
