Rich, vibrant, and juicy, this wine boasts aromas of cherry and wild berry, with soft notes of black pepper. Tightly packed layers of cranberries, wild berries, and ripe cherries flow together with a touch of allspice for a rich, full flavor. Moderate tannins show in the rich, mouth filling finish.
This is an excellent Zin. I just ordered more before it is sold out.
I have been a Zins fan for about 10 years and find that wines made from either old and new vines in this varietal are always an adventure. The 2006 Rombauer is no exception. This wine is bursting with flavors that linger on your tongue making it drinkable by all. Yet complex enough for the purest of red wine drinkers. Truly worth a try.
