Winemaker's Notes

Rombauer Vineyards' 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon intricately weaves ripe black fruit flavors with subtle earthy purities. Savory pomegranate, black cherry, mint and chocolate fill out the palate. While the well integrated tannins give way to nuances of black cherry, this wine has an elegant and lingering finish.

Quite disappointed in this wine. Lack of any characteristic that stood out. There wasn't any depth of flavor and the overall structure of the wine was muted, Also tried again the next day (ie vin-u-vac O/N). It hadn't changed much. Not at all what I expected for a $40- bottle of wine. Perhaps it needs time?

The Napa wine industry really took off in the 1980's, when vineyard...

Perhaps that title is due to its ability to grow worldwide in a number of climates, or to the fact that it produces wine with such character yet such diversity. Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
