All in all a balance of cool periods for more controlled ripening and forward fruit flavors coupled with enough sun to get the fruit in in good condition produced an enticing Sonoma County Chardonnay.
This is a pretty wine from start to rich and long finish. The bouquet, floral and bright, is a pleasant balance of oak to fruit. Peach and citrus notes mingle nicely with light spice and vanilla aromas.
The citrus is carried through to the palate where fresh and crisp apple and lemon flavors meld to a long, smooth but fresh finish.
I like to have this wine with a casual meal that includes a crisp salad with freshly toasted nuts with a dressing of hazelnut oil alongside a corn tortilla filled with fresh fish and vegetables."
