Somm Note

Winemaker Notes

It was a very good vintage, yielding plush red wines and the 1999 Alexander's Crown is no exception. It is a rich black-cherry color implying the same in the wine's character. The aromatics are of warm baked bread surrounded with black cherry and dark chocolate notes and the perfect hint of spice.

Firm in body, it is lush with blackberry and cassis flavors. Vanilla bean and toasted almonds emerge in the finish well balanced with the dark berry fruit flavors.
