Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Color: A pale, creamy yellow

Aroma: Aromas of grapefruit with a touch of grass and flinty characteristics.

Palate: An intense, complex and richly flavored wine.

Critical Acclaim

"Light, bright yellow. Strikingly fresh citrus and green apple aromas display impressive purity and a strong mineral quality. Lively lime and lemongrass flavors deliver solid punch but carry no fat. Exotic floral and pungent herbal notes build on the long, incisive finish, which strongly echoes the lemongrass quality. This was bottled at the end of January, said Rochioli, "because four months is really all it needs and I want the fruit to be as fresh as possible." Most of these vines were planted in 1959."
