This wine is a blend from our estate vineyards. It is a fine example of the unique characteristics from our property, and the Russian River Valley. Aromas of ripe apple, apricot, vanilla, and a touch of spice combine with the rich apple flavors and crisp acidity.
"The 2011 Chardonnay Estate is an excellent introduction to the Rochioli wines. In this vintage, the Chardonnay has gorgeous intensity and energy. White flowers, lemon and crushed rocks all come to life in a vibrant Chardonnay that should drink nicely for a handful of years. Bright saline notes add tension on the finish."
Vinous / Antonio Galloni
"Hidden within its oak, there's a clean, fresh intensity to this wine that shows in the lasting flavor. Decant this if you open it now, allowing the oak to transform into a toasted hazelnut scent, itself melting into the succulent pear and apple raciness of the wine. The light green-apple color and impressive depth of flavor suggest long development ahead in the cellar."
Wine & Spirits
"This isn't a long-term ager, but do give it about a year in the bottle to let all of its parts meld together. Right now, it’s tight and oaky. It features intense, bright pineapple, green apple and orange flavors, with sweet barrel influences and a tenuous streak of acidity."
"Light, bright yellow. Fresh peach and melon on the nose, with hints of lemon zest and white flowers building with air. Fleshy, appealingly juicy orchard fruit flavors gain sweetness with air, picking up notes of sweet butter and honeysuckle. A fruity, silken-textured chardonnay that finishes with very good energy and cut."
International Wine Cellar
"Shows the traits of a young, just-bottled wine, displaying heavy, leesy, toasty oak and malolactic richness, with fig, smoke and apricot notes. Straightens out on the finish."
