Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

A blend from two different vineyard sites; 24% River Block Vineyard and 76% Mid 40 Vineyard. Straw yellow in color with aromas of ripe apple, floral and a touch of spice. It has rich apple flavors with a bit of vanilla and crisp acidity. Its finish is long, rich and balanced with a pleasant acidity.

Critical Acclaim

"Yellow-gold. Powerfully scented aromas of tangerine, pear, floral honey and minerals. Deep, gently chewy citrus flavors gain weight and depth with air while maintaining clarity. The mineral quality repeats on the finish, which is pure, focused and long."
91 Points

"The least expensive Chardonnay continues to get better and better. The 2007 Chardonnay Estate, which is the one most widely available, is made from California clone 76. This wine displays nice white peach, honeysuckle, and floral notes, medium to full body, and serious fruit presence, in an open-knit, broad style to drink over the next 3-4 years. "
