With a humble beginning of just 15 acres of vineyard land in the early eighties, RSV’s has grown to just under 200 acres of prime vineyard in five Carneros locations and a small 4.8 acre estate vineyard next to the winery in the Stags Leap District. The wines are 100% estate-produced. Rob Sinskey, Winemaker Jeff Virnig, and Vineyard Manager Kirk Grace, have created unique methods to grow and produce Pinot Noirs that are silky, elegant, and complex. They also make two California Bordeaux style proprietary reds (the RSV Vineyard Reserve from the Carneros and the RSV Stags Leap District Claret) that have a sense of place and exhibit incredible tactile qualities. The vineyards are farmed and the wines are made 100% organically. RSV also produces limited quantities of Merlot, that explodes with bright fruit character, a non-malolactic Chardonnay that is full flavored with natural, mouth-watering acidity, a whole cluster pressed Pinot Blanc that is free of oak influence, a delicate salmon-colored Vin Gris of Pinot Noir and a few other goodies… just for the fun of it.

The Vin Gris' delicate hue speaks of purity. Born of whole-cluster pressed Pinot Noir, its copper-tinged salmon color recalls spring in Napa Valley. The wine's beguiling aromas of bright fresh berries and herbs are a delight. A taste induces smiles with a wide palate of refreshing flavors: wild...

Pastel pink color touched by a bit of orange tempts the eye. Aromas of wild strawberry and lime mingle with just a hint of sweet herbs. Those berries burst on the palate joined by zesty but puckerless notes of cranberry and the part of a watermelon just beneath the pink fruit. There's a delicious...

The color filters light down to a beautiful translucent ruby, brilliant and pure. The aromas could not come from anything other than Pinot Noir, reminiscent of cherry, tea, pie spice and a forest in autumn. The cherries burst red, ripe and zingy on the palate, the tea persists, as does the...

RSV's Pinot Blanc exhibits Old World personality contrasted with New World precision. It is elegant, balanced and racy! Aromas of apple and ripe white nectarine leap from the glass. The wine is zippy on the palate with a medley of citrus flavors: orange, lemon and kaffir lime, with pippin apple,...

The color is a deep, ruby-tinged purple, nearly opaque at its core. Bright and intense aromas escape the glass with suggestions of blueberries and cassis. But there is so much more: a blast of wild fennel, a touch of earthy olive, a dash of vanilla, a wisp of violet! The aromas find substance with...

Scintillating Abraxas shines a pure, vibrant flaxen hue. Effusive aromas suggest citrus notes of Rangpur lime and Meyer lemon, layered with floral hints of honeysuckle, magnolia flower and spice. The aromas foreshadow lingering flavors of crisp nectarine, pear and meyer lemon overlaying exotic...
