Our Robert Mondavi Private Selection 2000 Pinot Noir embodies is an approachable, fruit-forward wine. The silky layers of wild cherry and violet intertwine with fragrant accents of nutmeg and clove. Aging in small, French oak barrels has added subtle smoke and cedar nuances that continue through the lingering finish. The vibrant flavors and excellent balance are captured from grapes grown in the cool, foggy foothills of Monterey and Santa Barbara counties. In these Central Coast vineyards, the wind and fog from the Pacific Ocean delay ripening, allowing time for the development of a broad spectrum of flavors. Our Pinot Noir is an elegant accompaniment to a wide range of entrees, from grilled fish or chicken to heartier meats, such as beef or lamb. One of our favorite pairings is Seafood Skewers over Couscous Salad with Lime Vinaigrette.
