Robert Craig Cellars Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
This very limited production of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Crowley Vineyard is pure "Spring Mountain" in its distinctive deep purple color, rich blueberry and exotic plum fruit, and its substantial weight and body. This unfiltered and unfined wine is so pure and harmonious that it reinforces Spring Mountain's reputation as great mountain appellation.
The Wine Advocate - "Remarkably, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain might even eclipse the 2006 – in fact, I think it will. Dense purple to the rim, the wine displays powerful blueberry, blackberry, plum, and truffle notes in the aromas, sensational flavor concentration, a strong floral underpinning, impressive purity, a multi-dimensional, layered, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a fabulous finish. This is a very exciting wine that should drink well for 20-25 years.
Wine Spectator - "This offers a taut, rich mix of blackberry, red cherry and wild berry flavors that are firm and full-bodied, spicy and complex, ending with ripe tannins that give the flavors traction. Drink now through 2022."

Notable FactsWithin the Napa Valley lie smaller sub-AVAs that lend even more character specifics to the wines. Furthest south is Carneros, followed by Yountville, Oakville & Rutherford. Above those two is St.-Helena and finally, just grated an AVA, Calistoga. These areas are situated on the valley floor and are known for creating rich, smooth Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay. There are a few mountain regions as well, nestled on the slopes overlooking the valley AVAs. Those include Howell Mountain, Stags Leap and Mount Veeder. Wines from the mountain regions are often more structured and firm, benefiting from more time in the bottle to evolve and soften.
