Winemaker's Notes

The oldest Macabeu and Xarel·lo vines allow the calcareous soil which has nurtured them since birth to express itself to the fullest. Full of energy, balance and fullness, where the aroma of confit of fruits melts with more mature citric hints. The height of elegance.

Critical Acclaim

"The 2004 Brut de Brut Gran Reserva Brut Nature is a blend of 67% Macabeu and 33% Xarello from three vineyards on calcareous soils (Can Romeu, Can Rossell and Pedra Blanca). The first fermentation is done in oak casks and was bottled in spring 2005, remaining for 79 months on its lees before disgorgement on December 15, 2011. It offers a very precise bouquet that unfurls in the glass to reveal tantalizing hints of white truffle and a touch of rosemary. The palate is very precise and beautifully balanced with subtle white peach and quince notes, this Cava struck through with razor-sharp acidity that leads to the wild honey-tinged finish. There is a sense of completeness to this outstanding Cava that is well worth the price when you consider the price of Champagne."

Well, status for one - many vintage Champagnes are...
