Winemaker's Notes

Originally planted by the Stefani family at the turn of the century (1889), this two hundred acre vineyard is located in the heart of the "Canyon Valley," a unique southwest-northeast corridor connecting Sonoma County's Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys. The vineyard's favorable growing conditions encompass a combination of microclimate and soils which consist of as much as 30% gravel and small stone; a combination of Pleasanton and Clough series. Today this unique climate/soil produces zinfandel grapes filled with intense cassis and blackberry aromas complimented by cedary, spicy flavors in the finish.

The wine has an impressive structure, aromatic bouquet and deep cassis fruit flavors.

These flavors are an ideal match with classic dishes such as pepper steak or chicken braised in red wine with bacon and mushrooms.
