Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This wine captures the true varietal character and terroir of Monte Rosso Zinfandel. Fresh crushed berry, spice, briar and earthy notes are supported by plush tannins. This pairing of ripe fruit and spicy elegance results in a smooth mouthfeel and a lingering finish. The toasty flavors from the French oak barrels hint of coconut and vanilla and showcase the wine's refined intensity.

Critical Acclaim

"The brilliant 2006 Zinfandel Monte Rosso was aged for nine months in American oak. Displaying abundant amounts of exuberant red and black fruits, incense, ground pepper, and a subtle smoky herb character, this full-bodied, supple-textured Zinfandel should drink nicely for 3-4 years. "
