Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

There is a deep, intense garnet color with reddish tints, and the wine has a clear and brilliant color. There are very intense aromas of red fruits with undertones of toasted sour cherry. Very ample in the mouth, with great body and structure, the palate is fresh and very elegant.

Critical Acclaim

"A rich, muscular red, with interesting notes of cream and pomegranate to the ripe dark plum and cherry flavors. There's a full-bore finish of smoked maple and mocha. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca. "
92 Points

"A tannic and powerful black berry fruit driven wine, its weight and concentration fitting well with the overall richness. It is a powerful expression, hinting at minerality while enjoying its opulent character."
91 Points
