The Princic estate, named for its founder, is in the Collio DOC area in northeastern Italy's Friuli region. Collio is one of the smallest growing areas in the country. Its white wines have been respected for a long times as the very best of Italy. Three-fourths of the Doro Princic estate is planted with white varietals. Sandro, the founder's son, has become known for the aroma-enriching wines produced through temperature controlled fermentation.
The main varietals planted are Tocai, Pinot Bianco and Malvasia, which have the best balance of elegant aromas and full-bodied weight on the palate which is very typical of the wines from this region. The estate also produces a delicious Merlot.
