Dr. John Possingham has been growing
grapes for more than twenty years in South
Australia. From the 2000 vintage onwards
he decided to select the oldest block of Shiraz
off his Blewitt Springs vineyard to make the
wine under his own label, calling it Possums.
His vineyard’s lightly higher elevation and
tendency for very low yields has helped
produce one of the darkest and most intense
wines coming out of the McLaren Vale area.
