About Poggio Il Castellare:
The considerable prestige
of the wines made in the Montalcino area
was well known way back in Etruscan times.
The Etruscans developed active settlements
on these hills.
The Poggio Il Castellare farm
is inspired by the archaeological finds of
an ancient village
-ruins of houses and towers-,
and the Baroncini family
has dedicated its name to the historical
roots of Brunello
and viticultural products of the surrounding area.
The landscape is that of the delightful Val d’Orcia,
from which, way up high,
it is possible to see the profile of Mount:
the farm’s vineyards
stretch across the sunny slopes, open
to the mystical view of
the centuries-old Abbey of Sant’Antimo.
And here, as though
around a heavily laden table,
the pleasure of tasting
is unique and exclusive…
