Winemaker's Notes

100% Nerello Mascalese from the northern slopes of Mount Etna.

Rich bouquet ranging from red berry jam to spices and mineral notes. Elegant and characterful at the same time with distinctive minerality, freshness and flavor intensity sustained by firm tannins.

Vigna Barbagalli is just sensational. From pre-Phylloxera, 100-year-old vines which are the very finest you can get from the northern slopes of the Etna volcano. Superb finesse and elegance combined with rich complexity and minerality. A unique cru, unthinkable anywhere else.

Critical Acclaim

"This has a mind-blowing nose of prephylloxera fruit I have found in a few rare bottles of red Burgundy from the 1800s. It's all exotic flowers such as lilacs with dried strawberries. Full-bodied, with profound depth of fruit but gorgeous subtlety and complexity. "

This preference comes from the profound conviction that this is what is required by the land which offers...
