Wine Style Guide

Light & Crisp

Light to medium bodied wines that are high in acid and light to medium fruit. Typically no oak.

Fruity & Smooth

Light to medium bodied wines with lots of juicy fruit, typically medium acid and medium oak.

Rich & Creamy

Full bodied wines that have typically undergone malo-lactic fermentation and/or spent time in oak.

Alcohol By Volume: 12.0%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2011 Pinot Grigio is an attractive pale gold with a pleasing aroma of freshly cut pears. The palate is medium bodied with a soft, dry textural finish.

Serve lightly chilled. Try it with fritto misto, pan fried veal or simply as a refreshing aperitif.

Critical Acclaim

"Light and silky, with pretty pear and spice flavors that linger gently."

Love this wine. Just ordered another case. We have tried many Pinots and this is an easy-drinking wine with or without cheese or other "white wine" meals. Not too sweet; not bitter; not too dry. Right down the middle is fine for me.

Pinot Gris' most popular and successful region is Alsace, France, an area of the country that actually puts the name of the grape on the label. Pinot Grigio is the Italian version of the grape,...
