Winemaker's Notes:

Clancy’s blend is a firm favorite with lovers of red wine. Peter Lehmann winemakers follow the long Australian tradition of blending Shiraz with Cabernet Sauvignon, but giving their unique touch with the incorporation of Merlot to give a soft, approachable and richly enjoyable red wine.

Color: Dark plum with deep red rim.

Bouquet: A wonderful mélange of plum and pepper, violets and black currant, minted spice notes and black olive.

Palate: Unmistakeably Barossa, with a wonderful richness of delicious forest fruits on the palate. It has good structure and weight, beautifully integrated oak and finishes firm with fine grained tannins.

Clancy’s is ideal to share at a barbeque, and also delicious with roast chicken, spaghetti bolognaise and vegetarian cheese dishes.

About Peter Lehmann:

Peter Lehmann Wines is one of Australia’s most respected and innovative winemakers, creating wines that delight wine lovers around the globe. Winemaking operations are carried out at a single site located near Tanunda, in the heart of the internationally famous Barossa Valley, South Australia.

The care and consideration which Peter Lehmann Wines brings to the selection of grapes enable the winery to produce its wide range of distinctive, award-winning and internationally acclaimed wines. Peter Lehmann Wines are created from grapes purchased from about 185 carefully selected independent growers as well as grapes grown in the four company-owned vineyards. Many of their growers’ families have worked the same vineyards for five and, in some cases, six generations.

The wide range of soils and micro-climates produce a wealth of grape styles, providing winemakers with the luxury of being able to select from the known vineyard flavor profile, the grapes which will create the style they are seeking. It is significant that the majority of the vineyards from which Peter Lehmann sources fruit are classified as mature, ranging in ages from 20 to over 100 years old. Many are ungrafted and dry grown. It is quite incredible – but true – that Peter Lehmann Wines is able to source its Shiraz fruit from around 220 individual Shiraz vineyards throughout the Barossa, enabling their winemakers to craft different expressions of Shiraz for their wines.
