Perrin et Fils Reserve Cotes du Rhone Rouge 2007
Rhone Red Blends from Cotes du Rhone, Rhone, France
Wine Style Guide
Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.
Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.
Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
A beautiful deep red hue that seems almost opaque. The nose shows caramel and spices that mingle with red berry fruit. The palate is full and deep, with fine tannins and good length.
"The 2007 Cotes du Rhone Reserve red (60% Grenache and the rest equal parts Syrah and Mourvedre) possesses beautiful crunchy, juicy, blackberry and cherry fruit as well as hints of underbrush, pepper, and black cherries. Medium-bodied and silky-textured, it is ideal for drinking over the next 3-4 years. "
The Wine Advocate
This wine is beautiful. It is wet, berry filled, and delicious. I would buy this wine again.
This wine is outstanding, and at a surprisingly low price. Pleae get more in stock soon!
Great for the price. Don't buy it as it might drive the price up!
(This review is for the 2009 vintage). It's a certified green wine, has a screwcap, is pleasantly smooth, and best of all very inexpensive. Great for dinner with friends, or watching TV alone; very versatile. I'm stocking up on this one.
I've tried this wine before and thought it was very good for the price. I just received a case of it just in time for the holidays.
I must be honest, I was a little disappointed in this wine. I don't know what I was expecting, but its not a bad wine. I prefer a little more body to my reds.
I was excited to try this wine (Trader Joe's has it for $6.99), but I was reasonably disappointed. It lacks flavor and complexity. The flavor that IS there is decent, with earth and spice intermixed with dark berry. However, it just wasn't great. For the price, there are better choices out there. Wines here need only be from the Cotes de Rhone geographic area (which is fairly large) and consist of one or more of the 22 varieties permitted. Being such a wide...

Learn About Rhone Red Blends
The Rhone region of France has a delightful selection of red varieties. There are 22 grapes allowed in the Rhone AOC, about half of them red. Most of these varieties are used as secondary blending partners, often comprising less than 10% of the blend. The primary red players of Rhone blends are Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. Most wines from the Southern Rhone use Grenache as their...
