Style: Rich & Creamy

Wine Style Guide

Light & Crisp

Light to medium bodied wines that are high in acid and light to medium fruit. Typically no oak.

Fruity & Smooth

Light to medium bodied wines with lots of juicy fruit, typically medium acid and medium oak.

Rich & Creamy

Full bodied wines that have typically undergone malo-lactic fermentation and/or spent time in oak.

Alcohol By Volume: 13.9%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This Chardonnay shows an intriguing array of aromas from vanilla bean, toasted hazelnuts, to lemon Verbena. Crisp flavors of green apple and biscotti contrast with hints of grapefruit, toasted marshmallow, and fresh lime on the finish. A bit of aging on American Oak, adds depth and complexity furthering this wine's broad stylistic appeal.

Pair Pepperwood Grove Chardonnay with grilled halibut topped with a grapefruit salsa, or a half-dozen barbequed oysters.

absolutely not as described.. farthest thing from rich & creamy as one can get.. "tinny" would be a much better description..

Style: Light & Crisp
A Chardonnay that did not resonate very well with our Chardonnay drinkers. If the wine did not say Chardonnay on the label, I would not have known the varietal. Minor bouquet, minerals advanced on initial taste, and nothing like the write-up on the website.
