Winemaker's Notes

A vivacious ruby red colour is in its heart, and complex and fruity aromas go to the nose, with evident notes of wood.

Critical Acclaim

"Pelissero's 2010 Barbaresco Tulin explodes from the glass with a head-spinning array of aromas and flavors. Rich, full-bodied and intense, the 2010 boasts stunning depth to match its racy, intense structure. Deeply spiced, mentholated notes saturate the full-bodied, voluptuous finish. The combination of fruit and structure is super exciting, to say the least."
94 Points

"The 2010 Barbaresco Tulin shows sheer power and extra concentration that is noticeable both in terms of the wine’s darkened color and the beautiful intensity of its aromas. Opulent oak and spice are wrapped tightly around a solid core of dark cherry and pressed blackberry. The tannins are clearly on the astringent side, but the aging window here promised to be extra long. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2030."
93 Points

"Good medium red. Very ripe, musky aromas of red cherry and anchovy, along with a slightly intrusive leesy quality. Fine-grained and lighter on its feet than the Nubiola, with very ripe flavors of red cherry, spices, earth and meat calling to mind a wine from Gevrey-Chambertin. Richer by far than the Nubiola, finishing with a broad dusting of tannins. Shows a slight dried fruit character that may be a function of the dehydrating winds common to this site."

Learn About Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo(neh-bee-OH-low) The King of Piedmont Nebbiolo is the key grape in the wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. It is not the most planted variety, but it does make the most distinctive and age-worthy wines. Native to Piedmont, Nebbiolo is a bit of a soil snob - it's finicky about where it grows and has long been the honored red grape of Northern Italy...
