Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

For this wine, diversity yields great complexity. The fruit source for thjs Chardonnay comes from three distinct vineyards. The warmer growing condition of Palmaz's lower vineyard fills the mid palate with guava and nectarine, while the cooler mid-mountian vineyard contributes a restrained minerality. Finally, the Hyde Vineyard fruit brings a refreshing long finish. The use of French oak barrel fermentation binds these unique elements into a lovely harmonized expression.
