"Bright yellow-green color. Sexy, leesy nose combines lime, brown butter, honeycomb, mocha and vanillin oak. Supple and very ripe, offering a pliant, sweet middle but showing modest complexity today (the pH here is a very high 3.72). This began a bit warm but tightened up nicely in the glass, suggesting that it will gain with a couple years of bottle aging. New director of winemaking Kale Anderson, who was previously at Cliff Lede, blended and bottled the 2011 Pahlmeyer wines but did not vinify them.Rating: 90(+?)"

Pahlmeyer's estate vineyard - Waters Rance - is situated at 2100 feet in the Atlas Peak appellation of Napa Valley. It is the key source for their Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Chardonnay. Jayson's passion eventually led him to the Sonoma Coast, where less than seven miles and two ridges from the Pacific Ocean, he planted Wayfarer Farm, their key source for Pinot Noir.
