Some assume that this, our most popular wine, is a "kitchen sink blend." On the contrary, it is the first red wine that we make each year, carefully blending small amounts from some of our finest lots to craft the Abbot's Table. The attempt each year is to make a ready to drink red that also is reflective of the vintage and the 2007 Abbot's Table does just that - the vintage yielded some lovely acids and the lowest pH's since 1999.
The year was marked with great heat during the summer that was abruptly ended by an unseasonably long and cool fall, leaving us with ripe wines with great acidity. The 2007 Yakima Valley wines have big flavors that will cellar well. It has vibrant fruit aromas and delicious flavors, expressing the fruitiness and weight of Sangiovese and Zinfandel- it is such a rich, yet easy drinking wine that it can be paired with the broadest range of foods and also tastes great by itself.
