A blend of 99.97% Cabernet Sauvignon and .03% Merlot.
18 months in French oak (45% new)
Beautifully rounded mouthfeel and layers of rich and complex flavors such as cherry, dark berry and cassis, with the oak influence adding subtle nuances of toasted vanilla and toffee.
Great with steak, lamb and duck dishes, as well as flavorful cheeses.
This wine has a nice deep red color (2 of 2). The bouquet is pleasant and aproachable, promising medium full body and an enjoyable tasting experience (3 of 4). The taste is a touch dry on the way in, and a medium body keep this wine from playing with the big boys. A flinty, well balanced finish should stand up to fairly substantial meals (5 of 10). Overall, I may have enjoied this wine more had I taseted it with food. It certainly has the structure to avoid being overpowered by most food parings (2 of 4). Total Score: 12 of 20
