Vines from our Betty's vineyard on Mount Veeder struggle to exist on this steeply terraced and water deprived parcel, coupled with the exceptional growing season in 2007 are the reasons why our 2007 Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon is a blockbuster wine. An inky purple/black color, with intense blueberry, blackberry, crushed fruits, pomace, licorice, casis and cured meat notes on the aroma. The palate is dense with blue and black fruit flavors and full bodied tannins that will preserve this wine for decades to come
"The stunning 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain (83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and the rest Malbec and Petit Verdot) is the finest Cabernet this estate has yet produced from their Howell Mountain holdings. A dense purple color to the rim as well as an exquisite bouquet of black raspberries, blueberries, camphor, creme de cassis, smoke, and crushed rocks are followed by sweet fruit, gorgeous density, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and a layered, multidimensional mid-palate and length. With no hard edges, this flawless wine should drink well for 20-25 years."
The Wine Advocate
"Bright, deep red-ruby. Black fruits, licorice and bitter chocolate on the nose. Deep, dense and tactile, with an enticing silky texture and an intriguing saline nuance to the flavors of black cherry, cassis and dark chocolate. There's a medicinal quality here that contributes to the complexity of this sweet but energetic wine. Really quite three-dimensional in its palate feel."

The Napa wine industry really took off in the 1980's, when vineyard...Read More About Napa Valley
