Winemaker's Notes

Icon Sauvignon Blanc is a complex, powerful wine, with excellent structure and palate weight. Displaying distinct Marlborough characters of pineapple, grapefruit and nettles, this wine has a smooth, viscous mouth feel with a refreshing balance of tangy acidity and natural grape sugars.

Critical Acclaim

"A brilliant burst of lime, grapefruit and green apple rides easily on a racy, acidity-fueled texture, persisting into the long, vibrant finish with hints of wet stone and citrus peel. Drink now."

The wine has an intensely fruity nose with hints of lime and grapefruit with a wonderfully acidity feel on the palate. Worth the buy.

The winemaker says this has flavors of "passion fruit, gooseberry and nettles. Having never tasted nettles, I can't disagree. But I also get wet saddle and compost in the bouquet and aftertaste. This wine is complex, but it is not pleasing!
