Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2011 Nobilo Icon Pinot Noir is dark ruby red. Spicy notes come to the fore immediately. Lifted aromas of raspberry, cherry, and blackberry. Rich fruitcake and spicy toasty oak flavors with fine tannins. The palate is generous and balanced with excellent length. Made with 100% Pinot Noir.

Perfect with rack of lamb and also excellent with venison dishes.

Critical Acclaim

"Shows smooth raspberry and cherry notes at the core, with a supple texture and nice details of caramel, loam, cigar box and clove. Displays great focus, an elegant profile and a long, lingering finish. Drink now through 2022."
