Winemaker's Notes

Perfumed with aromas of ripe berries, this wine has sweet flavors of chocolate and spice wrapped around a rich fruit core of blackberry and cassis. The intensity of flavor as well as the layering mouthfeel have developed into an impressive structure over time. The wine is juicy and silky with a sweet core of tannin that delivers the fruit through a nice lengthy finish.

Critical Acclaim

"The dense purple-hued 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon State Lane Ranch (also 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits more chocolate, espresso roast, black fruits, underbrush, and tobacco leaf characteristics. Very promising, but slightly more austere in the mid-palate and finish than its siblings, it should drink well for 15+ years. "
