Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

I really enjoyed this wine, just as I have with many of the offerings from this region. This was a complex little wine that really came alive with a white sauce/pasta dish we were enjoying.

Twenty-five year veteran winemaker, Nick Goldschmidt, returns to his New Zealand roots each year to showcase two of New Zealand's preeminent varietals: Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.

Boulder Bank features the Kerseley Vineyard, located at Dillon's Point in the celebrated Marlborough region, which produces wonderfully fragrant Sauvignon Blanc. Comprised of river rock and sandy loam typical of vineyards near the Opawa River, Kerseley does hold a most unusual distinction: it lies below sea level — the salinity in the soil imparts an attractive minerality to the finished wine.
