Winemaker's Notes

Bordeaux fans will appreciate the casual sophistication and elegant structure of this wine. Newton 2004 Claret opens with aromas of blueberries, cranberries, and strawberries with touches of cassis. On the palate, ripe tannins surround rich black cherries, blackberries and plum flavors with a hint of tasted oak balanced with a nice acidity.

The ripe berry qualities of Newton Claret provide for an exceptional range of food pairing options, such as a mushroom and Swiss cheese hamburger, grilled pork tenderloin with a cranberry sauce, or bacon pancetta salad.
