Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2010 Nautilus Pinot Noir is dark ruby in colour and shows an aroma of dark cherries, plums and spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied with generous fruit sweetness and succulent tannins combining to give a long warm finish.

Beautiful accompained by venison with star anise.

Critical Acclaim

"This delicious Pinot offers a great mix of ripe, succulent cherry and wild raspberry flavors, with plenty of licorice, cedar, cigar box and fresh sage aromatics. Tannins are smooth, but offer some traction on the finish. Drink now through 2020. 950 cases imported."
