Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

A fresh, young fruity wine with some spiciness and hints of red berries, Montes Cherub is seductive, elegant and dry. It has a bright intense pink color. Both on the nose and palate, this Rose has a distinct Syrah character with some spiciness and hints of strawberries and lively floral flavors–mainly roses as well as orange peel. With good fruit concentration it shows richness in texture across the palate that leads to a delightfully long finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Magenta in color and spritzy, with aromas of chunky red plum, cherry and citrus. There's nothing off or stinky here, but for some reason it seems a little heavier and less precise than it has been. Look for pink grapefruit, brine and berry flavors and then a long, almost hot finish."

Their premise, a clear belief that Chile had an untapped potential as a producer of quality wines, made them a benchmark for other wineries to follow. Its original four partners' total involvement and the continuous help of the angels that decorate their labels...

Learn About Chile

(CHEE-lay) Long and thin, Chile has a lot of land north to south. The wine region here is a series of districts based near Santiago. The vineyards are protected by the Pacific on the west and the Andes mountains on the east. This could help explain why the climate changes more from east to west than north to south - also why the country has remained phylloxera free....
