Deep and live ruby red color. The wine has a very elegant and evident Carmenère tipicity, showing lovely black pepper aromas with hints of red berries, chocolate, a bit of vanilla and black plums. In the mouth is distinctively smooth, with rounded and soft tannins. Long finish. The oak is beautifully integrated and balanced.
"The 2007 Alpha Carmenere is a superb rendition of this fascinating grape variety. A saturated purple in color, it has a superb aromatic array of spice, lavender, incense, smoke, and blueberry. Layered, plush, and concentrated, it has excellent depth and grip, enough well-hidden structure to evolve for several years, and a long, fruit filled finish. Drink it from 2012 to 2020."
The Wine Advocate
"Fans of this Chilean Specialty should be thrilled because this wine is well made and complete. Mint, plum, blackberry, cola and fine leather grace the nose, while the palate sings with forward but balanced black fruit and tobacco flavors. Elevated Carmenère; great for the faithful as well for newcomers."
Was really suprised by the complexity of this relatively low cost wine. Really smooth and was tremendous with a steak. Later, several days later drank by itself and was just as good.
I can't see why anyone would drink Cabernet Savignon when wine like this is available at this price. It is truly supendous. Lovely fruits, smooth and enduring finish. This is going to be one of our all time favs...
