Our 1997 Sauvignon Blanc is delightfully crisp on the palate, showing melon and green apple fruit. A minerally component in the structure may have been derived from the small percentage of Pinot Gris blended in.

Fairly delicate and quite refreshing, this wine is an excellent match for lightly spiced pasta and seafood dishes.

Twenty-five miles inland from Monterey Bay, The Monterey Vineyard rests in the wide Salinas Valley surrounded by the Gavilan and Santa Lucia mountain ranges. The winery is situated on portions of land originally granted by the Mexican government to Theodora Gonzales in 1836. The winery was acquired by The Seagram Chateau & Estate Wines Company in 1983.
