Wine Style Guide
Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.
Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.
Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
Alcohol By Volume: 14.5%
Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
The 2011 Jester Shiraz is a bright crimson color. The nose is a true reflection of a cooler year in McLaren vale with cranberry, blueberry, a hint of cracked black pepper, and quality spicy oak. Medium to full bodied, again a reflection of a cooler year with bright flavors of red berries, subtle herbal character and an overall savory quality to the finish, perfect for food.
"Has excellent colour for the vintage, McLaren vale doing it once again; there is a cool climate-like spicy/peppery edge to the ripe black fruits of the palate, the tannins supple, the oak integrated. One of the best wines of this difficult vintage."

Smooth & Supple
Outstanding. Enjoyed the first bottle so much, Ordered 7 more! One of the BEST reds I have ever purchased!
Big & Bold
Worth laying down. Huge flavor needs some time.
Solid 4 star wine for the price. Elegant and complex with a nice long finish. The cool climate blue fruit is very appealing It's a good one.
Very good, but the price is too high, rather buy Shoofly
Good for cooking, but is a bit young for drinking.

In McLaren Vale, there are vines as far as the eye can see. As in other parts of...
