The Shiraz grapes for G.A.M. are hand harvested at around 3 tons an acre from the Willunga district of McLaren Vale, South Australia.
Opaque black/purple. The nose shows concentrated blackberry with hints of spice and chocolate. An elegant yet robust palate, showing the Mitolo style softness and richness. Well structured with a concentration of pure plummy fruit. Will age well for at least a decade.
96-100 points Robert Parker: "...spectacular...exhibits aromas of lead pencil shavings, blackberries, blueberries, cassis, licorice, new oak, and scorched earth. This complex 2003 comes across as a hypothetical blend of a great La Mission-Haut-Brion from Bordeaux and a Rhone Valley Hermitage such as Chapoutier's Pavillon. Everthing is seamlessly integrated into this tour de force in winemaking. It should age for 10-15+ years."
